Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorshipLa Clinica was founded in 1989 and why mobile is such an integral piece of who La Clinica is, is because that is how La Clinica was born.
From a group of providers in Phoenix, Oregon who saw a need to serve our migrant and agricultural workers.
And so they got into their cars and provided services from their vehicle.
And that's really where our mobile story began.
And this is our new and improved vehicle for, our community.
La Clinica provides medical, dental, behavioral health services.
We've got a pharmacy and also offer personal development workshop.
We take all of the insurances, but also serve those that don't have insurance on a sliding base scale that can slide all the way down to zero depending on income and housing status.
Our goal is really to get out into the community and decrease barriers for folks that need primary care, mental health support, and providing that health care to them at the location of whether they're living there in that community, houseless, housed, we see everybody.
And it acts as a bridge to help get people established and with a primary care provider if that's their goal.
If there's services that we don't have right then, then we can connect them with community partners to help with any resources.
We work a lot with, folks that are unhoused, meeting them where they're at.
Often times they don't know what they're doing the next day or even the next hour.
And so being right there in the moment when they need us, serving them with whatever it is that is highest priority for them, I think is 1) how we build trust, but 2) how we enhance access to care.
We are going to two sites every day.
We're Tuesday through Saturday, so really have opened up access to our communities.
We're lucky to have such an awesome team that is here for the right reasons.
Their is in this work.
And so they adapt and flex as they see the needs of the community.
If we need to stay later, if we need to work weekends, whatever we need to do to be there when our community needs us.
